Workshop – Edward Weston

Discussion on the works and style of Edward Weston

What makes a strong black and white image?

If you can get familiar with Weston’s photography, perhaps a  bit of homework prior to the workshop on his images.

Still life lighting demonstration and feel free to bring your cameras, tripod, flash units and triggers for some practise.

July Hand-In and Set Subject is:

INSPIRED BY … EDWARD WESTON’S STILL LIFES

Edward Weston was an American photographer known for his modernist approach to still life photography. He was interested in capturing the abstract qualities of simple objects, often using close-up shots and strong lighting to emphasise  texture, form, and tone. His images are often minimal and elegant. Using Weston’s still life photography for inspiration, are you able to create with a similar look and feel?
